"Stumbled upon this hidden gem when staying in Brentwood. Coming from someone who was brought up on the coast this was one of the best fish and chips I’ve had. Fish was fresh and chips were chunky and fluffy. Staff were so friendly and sweet, even gave us an extra portion of chips and mushy peas on the house!"

"I really enjoyed my time at Ongar fish bar it used to be my fabricate fish and chip shop the food is still as good as it used to be but the only problem is that they put some new blue signs out front and it just looks a bit dodgy but the food is still amazing"

"Extremely generous portions, made the mistake of ordering a Large Chips and it was way too much for two people. The Haddock was delicious and humongous and they gave us free bread upon request. We initially called them and they were so helpful and patiently answered all of our questions. The only negative was that it was very oily and greasy, but the taste was amazing and the batter was crispy. I highly recommend them."

"I ordered a large cod, large chips, curry sauce and a chicken burger. I was not disappointed. It arrived a little earlier than expected and was packaged well. The portion sizes were reasonable and everything was delicious. The cod batter was nice and crispy as were the chips. You can tell everything was freshly cooked. It was so good, I ordered from them a couple of days later. This will be my go-to for fish and chips, yum!"
